lefty , or the not so lucky Canadian Goose.
This whole thing started out with my cusin phoning me one day , and telling me there was a goose caught in one of there trappers traps, and he didn’t
know what to do with it, so I go down to where he lives , and he points it out
and says “ its been there for awile , and I don’t know how bad its hurt or
anything” , so I figure , Great I got this goose thats pissed off to all hell
probably because He’s just got a bruised leg , know I gotta go catch it. We
plan out a strategy to get it , it works great till the fishing net that He gives me
only goes over the head , and doesn’t hold the wing at all , so I ended up
taking it and picking it up , getting beat up all the way up to the house with
beaks, wings,(a) leg ripping everywhere. Then we get it to the house and I
relize it is much worse than expected , with a small sinew of tissue holding
the leg on , and obviously no way , even taking it to a vet is gonna get that leg
back on , so I had to cut it with a pair of dubbing shears. after the whole
ordeal is over , cutting, cousin puking in sink ect.., I go in the house to get
him an anti-through up pill or something , And I hear a “ errrr HONK, ERR
HONK, Flap, flap , POW, POW” and run to the room the goose is in to see it
beating up my Cousins friend who was there helping hold the goose down ,
and doing a good job of kicking the kids butt who was yelling almost as loud
as the goose was honking. After awile , the goose calms down , and I guess it
relised it may just not get eaten by these mean critters that are trying to keep
it from freaking out, so I bandage it up with some gauge and peroxide , and
put it in the goose carrier to go home , and have its own house, food, pond ,
and other geese to socialize with , without having to watch out for predators
and having to search for food , just go to the feeder and eat a bunch of grain.
Lefty stayed with the other geese for about a year , and I guess it got home
sick , and decided to get out and search for other Canadians , which lead to
its encounter with a Coyote , which wasn’t to good.
THE Predator Article, I had to move it

Skunk or the not so smart chicken
This is got to be one of the oddest chickens I have ever seen or owned, though she wasn’t this odd before. She grew up fine from a small hatch from
one of my Golden Japanese hens, and it was after she got fully feathered and
was weaning away from her Mother when she flew right into a 2x4 beem that
was the frame to one of my pens that I was building. It was the weirdest thing
I have ever seen, she was sitting up on top of it, and when I went to feed the
rest of the birds she flew down , did like a one-eighty in the air while flying,
and hit the board so hard it actually shook the whole frame , a 10x8x8, made
entirely from 2x4s, and sounded like it was hit with a hammer. I ran over to
her to see what exactly she had done, and she was extremely woozy looking
as though she was drunk, I left her be but kept a eye on her. The next day I
came out to see her under her mother, just as though she was a week old. I
don’t know how it worked out, but I guess the mother fostered her own chick
(pullet by know) back. She continued to care for Skunk until skunk
disappeared, A YEAR later , yep she nurtured Skunk for a year and maybe
longer, laying eggs, and even trying to set, and skunk never left her side. I
“believe” there may have been some mild brain-damage, causing it to be
mildly retarded, so it (skunk) decided to stick with the only thing it knew, its
mom. I also noticed she didn’t eat until afew days later, after her mom
re-tought her.
